This article aims to analyze the challenges of permanence and success faced by students of Youth and Adult Education integrated with Professional Education at the Federal Institute of Goiás in the context of the Covid19 Pandemic, when, due to social isolation, the Emergency System came into force education. Methodologically, the study is characterized as qualitative and quantitative, whose analyzed data constitute part of a research carried out by the Observatory of the Brazilian Social State in partnership with the Observatory of the World of Work of the IFG, using in this case the information collected from students of the EJA-EPT of the Federal Institute of Goiás. The study outlined the profile of the Institution's EJA student population, pointing out that this population was severely impacted by the effects of the Covid19 pandemic. The institutional effort was important to guarantee the conditions of permanence during the validity of the SEE with even higher rates compared to the period immediately before the health crisis. However, although the success rates understood as approval were considered high, the study pointed out that the objective conditions of the teaching and learning process did not satisfactorily meet the conditions for acquiring knowledge provided for in the course curricula.
